As we are quite a large Church, it can be quite daunting when you first visit us. Our Welcome Team will be there to welcome you during our Sunday Services and we would encourage you, when you first arrive, to let one of our Welcome Team know that you are new so that we can give you a warm welcome. If you would like to know more, then please go to a Welcome Point after a Sunday Service where someone from the Welcome Team will be able to help you.
Then we would like to invite anyone who is new to Lansdowne Church, or has been coming but doesn’t yet feel connected with the Church, to one of our informal Connect Groups. These are run regularly through the year and will give you an introduction to Lansdowne Church, our Values, Ministries and Mission. Each Connect Group runs once a week for three evenings between 6.45pm – 9.15pm.
It’s a great way of finding out more about Lansdowne Church as well as giving you an opportunity to ask questions. We will also help you to find a small group where you can make good friends and grow in your relationship with God by studying the Bible as well as praying and caring for each other.
In addition, about three times a year, Peter and Sian Baker, Lansdowne Church’s Minister and his wife, host a Newcomers’ Evening. We aim to start a Connect Group cycle of meetings after each of these Newcomers’ Evenings. So, if you are not sure whether you want to come along to a Connect Group, then go to a Newcomers’ Evening where you can find out more and then decide if you would like to come.
To register your interest in joining a Connect Group, please contact the Church Office or, when you next come to Lansdowne Church, ask one of our Welcome Team for a Welcome Card and tick the box which shows you are interested in “Connect Groups.”
