SIMON is the founder and International Director of Great Lakes Outreach [GLO] a Christian charity working in war-torn Central Africa. GLO’s projects include for example, building schools, AIDS sensitisation, empowering street children, supporting orphanages, providing micro finance, entrepreneurship and training initiatives, developing agriculture and reaching out to communities. Having spent 20 years working and living in Burundi, with his wife and three children, Simon is now based in Bath and travelling regularly back out to visit projects and teams on the ground.
He has endured death threats, spoken out against corruption and survived many dangerous circumstances. A keen cyclist, he runs the annual Bike for Burundi challenge event in Central Africa.
Simon will be speaking at all our services on the 17 November.
