Mission at Lansdowne

“Go and make disciples of all nations” Matthew 28:20

As we seek to apply Jesus’ command, our vision for mission at Lansdowne is to..

make disciples, from our networks to the nations as we tell the gospel and love the lost.

make disciples
There are many different avenues through which we engage together in mission. In every one, our aim is the same – to make disciples of Christ. Giving all our effort and resources in calling people to lay down their lives, follow Jesus, and urge others to do the same.

networks to the nationsThis mission begins on our doorstep, the people we know most closely, but it never stops at these networks. God’s heart is for a worshipping people from every tribe, tongue and nation. As a church we are committed to reaching the unreached.

telling the gospel and loving the lostPeople need to hear the gospel and experience it in our lives. This means doing everything we can to love people in practical ways without ever failing to love them most of all by telling them the good news that Jesus Christ is Lord.

We aspire to see…

Every Member and Every Ministry, Participating, Partnering and Praying

Participation      Every follower of Jesus has a part to play in God’s work of mission

Partnership        We never do this alone – joining hands locally and globally

Prayer                   This is God’s work, making prayer our priority

The Mission Board has strategic responsibility to oversee the whole church’s engagement in this great work both locally and globally. The Mission Council is the operating arm of the Mission Board for global mission. If you would like to be more involved or would like to investigate how your area of ministry might engage more fully in mission please do speak to one of those on these teams.
