“Diverse Cultures, One Worship”
Lansdowne Church has always felt like a true multicultural family to me. Since joining the church, a little over two years ago, I’ve seen how our church community has become a haven for people from all over the world.
I’ve met members, now brothers and sisters, from Uganda, Poland, Sierra Leone, Iran, Cameroon, Ukraine, Kenya, China, Japan, Nigeria, Indonesia, Ghana, and many other countries. I have also gained church family who are from Ireland, Wales, Scotland and among the British community.
For many of us, whether students or workers, Lansdowne has become a place of comfort and belonging as we adjust to new surroundings and cultures.
We have experienced and enjoyed so much of the richness of the British culture, whether it is the Sunday roast dinner, the beautiful hymns, or the unpredictable weather. And we would like to share our diverse worship culture with the church.
International Worship Night
Thursday 19 September | 5:30pm | Lansdowne Church
On September 19th, I look forward to the special evening of international worship that celebrates the beautiful diversity of our congregation. This isn't just another service; it's an opportunity to experience worship as it's expressed around the globe. Together, we’ll sing, dance, and make melody to God, creating a fusion of worship that reflects our diversity, and unity in Christ. And echoing Daniel 7:14 (NIV): "all nations, and people of every language worshipped him."
This event is organized in collaboration with Bournemouth Worship Group (BOW), a passionate non-denominational group committed to spreading the Good News through vibrant worship events and community outreach.
This event is more than a service; I see it as a fulfilment of the gospel, enriching our collective spiritual experience. It is an opportunity for the body of Christ in Lansdowne to open their doors and arms even wider, and a chance for more of us to get involved, to serve and to feel even more connected within our church family.
We invite everyone, young and old, to experience this international worship night. Let’s sing, dance, and make melody to God, embracing the diverse expressions of faith within our congregation. Together, we can bring a piece of heaven to earth, united in our love and devotion to God.
